3BMcG is unable to pronounce the word 'Zillertalerstadthydroelectricherkraftwerkbhan'

TheDoctor likes to read aloud - hence the continuous letters of complaint from the local Library about spittle stained German language books he has returned.

I think I have been there. Mayrhofen?

Indeed it is. That's my favourite German word  It's also the most useless.

Speicher knows the word 'Tea' in 57 languages, but can't pronounce it in any of them.

Thread hijack, my favourite German word is Stumpfgleis, which is an island platform as opposed to a through platform. There are some Basle IIRC and Brunero (sp?) and Swindon.

That would be a bay platform, surely?
An island platform would almost always be a through platform - it's just one in between the two tracks, rather than one on each side.
Cambridge has two or three bay platforms, as well as a very long through platform.
