For a few weeks during early 1991, after mishearing the news, a confused Speicher wondered exactly what a Golf War looked like, how easy it was to do in the Iraqi desert, considering it would be one huge bunker, and why she never saw anything pertaining to the sport on the news.

Even now with the current conflict, she watches the news specifically to see a soldier at the very least, wielding a putter, but all attempts have so far been in vain.
