(No experience of EVs or the EV market).
I'd assumed that much older EVs have far more limited range than more modern ones. Ignoring the state of the battery (which I understand can mean significant replacement costs), newer technology (battery, motor, control) would probably give more recent models far better range
Is this the case?
(I appreciate that for some range is not an issue whereas of others it could be more important).
Yes they typically do. Battery tech developed/is developing very quickly.
