Are Mumford and Sons totally derivative and boring?
Or am I missing something much deeper?
Every song is just the same. And they are all over my radio at the moment.
I would rather listen to Coldplay or U2 than this rubbish!

I saw an interview with the main guy who basically said "I heard Old Crow Medicine Show and copied them", so yeah, I'd say they're pretty derivative. They have a new album out which is very popular so I reckon that's why they're everywhere just now.

I suppose that leads me to my own question, because I'm pretty sure the interview was on The One Show; why on earth does that exist? On the very rare occasion I've seen bits of it I struggle to see what it's actually for. My favourite snippet was when Ice Cube was on it and he looked utterly bemused as well.

Why when trying to break a Jacobs Cracker in half, it seems to work better in one orientation rather than the other. It's almost like it had a "grain".
Why is this??...

When you're taking a slice of butter, why does it curl up and round?

That would be a question of physics, of which I am unqualified to answer, depends on several different parameters, temperature of butter, the implements used weather a cutting action or scrapping action or even methodology.
So many variables to which it needs to be quantified to give a response.
A bit like asking ' Why does a brown cow give white milk when it only eats green grass?'

Which is like answering a question with another.....

Curly butter is like shavings from woodworking tools; smoothing planes and so on. Not sure why, but i like those shapes.

Milk is white because of the absorption spectra of the compounds it contains....

I thought it might because Cows haven't learnt to 'blush'with embarrassment ...
Woodwork shavings could be explained by the grain direction of the workpiece, the action of shaving a sliver of will promote the curl, or perhaps like certain brands of proprietary undergarments, the sharp cutting edge, 'lifts and separates' the parts that other supportive hands can't reach

Is Ken (must be approaching his 90's now) Barlow still living on Coronation Street? 🤔
