I'd agree ,it does seem a little pointless! Perhaps the retailers can load it.
But I once bought some Rohan Clothing , being Rohan it packed small, and was handy.
But all that stuff being Airside, it never struck me as being cheap.
Where as the Rohan stuff was end of line ,knock out stuff ,and was a big saving, if only it were a particularly lurid shade of green,
I didn't care!

I assume that shops like this are mainly there for advertising

If you are queueing up at check in and notice that someone else has much nicer looking luggage
and you are the sort of person who notices and cares about such things
then maybe you would look at the luggage shop during your wait for boarding

and then remember the make and brand and look it up when you get home

or maybe they have an arrangement where they can send it to your hotel/home after

no idea

I can understand if it's pre-security area and your carry on bag breaks, or won't fit in the little box hence too big, and you may panic and buy one of the pre-approved sized cases and squeeze it into there. Or you might just want to ditch your dirty old carry on bag and buy a new one. Or even your hold luggage before you check it in? But anything post security clearance does seem an awfully expensive way to advertise. Although saying that, at least you are targeting the right audience, albeit maybe not at the right time. I'd image shop rent at an airport is extremely expensive and highly sought after

I agree - but if that is correct why do they do it
there has to be a profit in it in some manner and this is the only one I can see

Why did I see an Eastern National bus in the bus park this afternoon, when Eastern National ceased to exist 35 years ago?

The local bus operators here in Sarfend, are in the habit of painting buses in old liveries, reminiscent of the old firms, it isn't that unusual, nostalgia sells!
Locally I did see something a little odd, some years ago to the local authority owned bus company used to run an express bus/ coach to London in competition with the local train line, when buses where further deregulated , that service went under.
But for some reason , I think it was a commentation bof 100 years of Southend Transport, a few of those very buses ,still in Southend Transport livery ,were running services around town.
I cannot bring myself to be in deep dungeon about an omnibus, but that did strike me as odd, perhaps it's been stabled at the local bus museum.
Mind you I do get misty eyed over a Route master bus, they are so evocative.
