Just come back from The ASDA
they have an electric gate to leave the self scan and Scan&go sections

It is supposed to be closed and only opens when you approach from the shop side

As usual it was fixed at open

I dunno why - but in spite of the apparently huge rate of shoplifting - the big supermarkets seem to actively disable and ignore possible methods of making it more difficult
this could be
a) it just generates major problems if it indicates a problem as British people are rather bolshy if challenged

b) putting something in people way annoys people and makes them think of going to another supermarket instead next time

My phone won't charge up. I think it might be the cable thingy part that goes in the phone, as it seems to be loose, not firmly fit. It's only about 6 months old. Do you think it's that, or the phone's socket that's the problem?🤔

Check the port for fluff. If the cable is not fitting in snuggly there might be something in there stopping it being fully inserted.

I've looked and blown on it as hard as I can, but no luck.🙄

try very gently using a pin or needle

When I was a teacher I taught IT
hence the kids thought I was the person to fix their phone

the carp a teenage girl can get into the usb port on her phone is not something you want to know about!!!

I might have made some rather sarcastic comments (and amusing to me!) to some of them from time to time!!!

This, It'll be full of fluff from your pockets, if you are able to remove the battery, do that first before poking around in the USB port :okay:

It really should be clarified to use a dull ended plastic pin. A sharp metal needle can easily scratch the port and cause problems.
