Yes that's the equivalent of a BMW Mini, it's not the original, the seat on my MK1 was one piece, the chain ring had the Raleigh symbol on it, and had a kn*cker cracker gearstick in the middle.

The Mk3 has an alloy frame and ISO threading so could have been really good, but safety considerations ruined it by deleting the two most iconic features*. The Mk3s are not worth much compared to a "real" Mk1 or Mk2, even in "project" condition.

*I think retrofitting the console shifter and the banana seat is nigh-on impossible, too

This has just reminded me that I had a Grifter. it was my favourite bike. Not as popular as the Chopper but it was bullet proof and very comfy to ride.
