I'm wanting to celebrate my birthday in July with a good steak and then on to a cocktail bar for a few after.
I've looked online and like the look of
http://thehawksmoor.com/locations/seven-dials/
And also http://www.jwsteakhouse.co.uk/mobile/home.html
But I thought I'd ask the London massive about any local hidden gems.

Also I'm after a nice cocktail bar with warm relaxed atmosphere

Cheers
Jay
For steaks try STK in Aldwhich, close to the theatre district (you could take in a show), they have a cocktail, bar there too. If you don't fancy that, A pretty good, intimate and relatively cheap cocktail bar is actually the ice bar off regent street. With the added novelty of being the ice bar.

The ice bit is optional but the actual bar is pretty good....or you could catch a cab to Ronnie Scott's in soho...not so much cocktails but a good giggle with the added bonus of a pretty cool salsa club upstairs...salsa is always optional.

Very traditional is the Guinea Grill on Bruton Place, Mayfair. That said Hawsmoor is pretty damn too. Avoid Gaucho like the plague, very inconsistent. I don't do cocktail bars so can offer no advice.

Slightly off topic, I lived in London in the 80's and the Angus steak house was pretty poor then.......... just checked and they are still going!!

Go for Cocktails at the top of the shard, you have to book a 2 hour table, but ot is worth it.
There is a Gaucho Grill and a Black and Blue near the Shard.
