I am replacing a rear wheel and need to remove the BMX freehub from the old one. What's the technique for doing this? I have a chain whip and various other tools.
I used a special tool and copious amounts of WD40 to remove to old one from my Langster. Perhaps using the WD40 more sparingly if I was going to use the freewheel again so as not to drive any grease out of it.
It may or may not be the shimano pattern 4 prong tool.
If it's not a shimano pattern and in fact has pin holes instead you may have to use the old fashioned punch and hammer method to drive it off the thread, an old screwdriver works in a pinch.
