Retraining/Job change later in life

Just about my worst job. I take maybe 40-50 flights a year and to this day I still hate flying and turbulence gives me motion sickness. Close my eyes and sleep on every flight......An astronaut would be utter punishment for me

I retrained for a new job in my thirties; (is that later in life?).

I'd joined the coal mining industry on leaving school at the end of the seventies. Did most jobs underground at one time or another. The events of 1984/5 gave an indication that I should have a rethink. Quite how I ended up as an airline captain, instructor pilot and examiner, I'm not really sure, but I guess I landed on my feet...

Being able to retrain whilst still employed would be a very big advantage.

Maybe your original instructor missed it out - but apparently most aircraft have wheels that you can land on so you don't wear out your shoes

A colleague of my wife was working same round with her today. Her husband got furloughed back when Covid began and decided to reassess his future employment and job security. 45 years old and applying to Police Force Wife said she wasn't expecting that !

Full of respect Cathryn. After months of home schooling a 10 year old
Teaching is hard but Police Force at 45 !!! @Drago may have thoughts on that
