If they are found guilty I hope the punishment is some sort of community payback. Planting several hundred trees should do it.

There's two issues here; first is the tree and there's also the damage to an ancient monument.

It's just been the opening statement from the prosecution, often designed to 'persuade' a defendant to change their plea. There's still the prosecution, the defence and closing arguments.

Let's see what happens and I hope it's a fair decision as they will probably appeal based on media prejudice.

Hang on, we haven't got any colonies anymore and slavery has been abolished.
