Only surprise is that it took the jury so long.

Not really had thye reached a verdict yesterday would have been back at work today. By reaching a verdict after 20 mins tis morning they got to have some more HMCS coffee and biscuits and an early start to the weekend

As always, there is more going on than is apparent to a casual follower of the news, further warning to us to be wary of jumping to conclusions.

The december incident led to the first postponement. it was reorted an ambulance had been called to his property after some altercation. it didnt say whether it was a 3rd party or teh other defendent.

So both found guilty. Their defence of “I didn’t do it” was rejected. Who could have seen that coming.

A barrister on the radio said his advice if he was representing them would have been plead guilty asap and seek to minimise the punishment.
We don’t know what they were told, but it seems that they may have gone against legal advice and the punishment will now be far worse.

They very clearly did exactly that, adding a whole new layer of stupidity to their actions.

The earliest possible guilty plea gets a defendant one-third off the sentence that would have been handed down at a trial.
