Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.

What Welsh Dragon said. Also take a look in the newbie thread in the beginners section, loads of help and support in there. Oh and welcome to the board

thats not bad about the best i can push out is 15 mph over a 20 mph max ride (i can, have done and will ride longer but just at a slower average)
my advice is unless you are racing don't get hung up on speed and just enjoy yourself!
what bike are you riding BTW?
Cheers Ed

Welcome to the forum!

That is a lot further and faster than most beginners do when they start cycling, but would be the kind of ride that most experienced cyclists would find quite easy.

The main things are to enjoy yourself and be healthy, and rides like that are ideal. You can build up to riding further and faster later on if you want to.

Welcome to the forum Dazza.

My first ride was a grand total of five miles so you did better than me,and i was also considerably slower too so well done on your ride. The speed and mileage will follow so don't worry.Just keep riding on have fun.

If that 10 miles was all up hill then you were flying and should maybe speak to Sky about a contract. It depends on the terrain.
At this point in your progression though I would just worry about getting out and enjoying the riding.

Hi Dazza
Welcome to the forum.:welcome:
My first ride was 17.8 miles at an average speed of 14.8 mph. This I did on a low end mountain bike. I do however live in Norfolk so hill climbing is not a big issue! lol
I have graduated to a Giant road bike now and my last ride was 30.4 miles at an average speed of 16.2 mph. ( all stats courtesy of Strava app).:becool:
As everyone else has said , enjoying getting out there on the bike is the most important thing. I seem to count the hours till my next ride!
Mrs BigWill says she thinks I may be a little obsessed!
Be warned ! This can happen to you too! :hyper:

Welcome

The time is good for you because its a starting point.
You'll improve steadily the more you ride.
The main thing is your enjoyment of it and getting on the bike as much as time allows.

Hi and :welcome: @Dazza B

That seems a good start and you'll no doubt improve as you get into riding more.

I concur with the posters above; don't worry too much about the stats at this stage - just get out and enjoy yourself.
