It's what they suggested to me as well, but I'd already worked out a decent test route - out of Camwel Road where Spa are based, down the A59 to Knaresborough (there is a shared path on the other side of the road for some, if not all, of the way), take the Beryl Burton cycleway to your left at the access opposite Mother Shipton's Cave and then along Bilton Lane. About 100m past the Gardiners Arms pub you have the option of taking the cycleway to your left back to Starbeck or to the right down to Ripley before you double back on yourself and then go to Starbeck. About 10 miles for the longer option.
