My neighbour is painting his fence. I'm off to watch him.

Is that some sort of sick kink you have?

I'm on a train in rural Co Kerry and having to endure a group of girls watching clips of the wedding on their smart phones at full volume whilst giving a running commentary on dresses, so hair styles etc.:banghead:

Is there no escape?
My wife's has made a Lemon and Elderflower cake which is apparently the same flavour as the royals wedding cake, so I'm mostly going to be eating that today. ^_^
Does anyone know what elderflower actually tastes like? Are you sure she's not just fobbing you off with a lemon sponge?

edit - i actually ended up watching it in bits in between laundry, unpacking etc.

Stand by me from it - I reckon you'd have to be made of stone to not appreciate this for all sorts of reasons -

The garden centre was surprisingly busy just now, I thought all the old folks would be at home watching telly. No such luck.

We were in Hinkley this morning and it was surprisingly busy, We're now back home having a brew and I've got the ironing to do and my bike to fettle.

Plenty of taxpayers are ignorant of what these freezes and cuts will mean for them...

It affects them directly or indirectly. I work with people who are long-term unemployed, or who have psychological issues through no fault of their own, or who have addiction issues. What people complaining about the 'costs' of what we do seem to miss, is that firstly it is far cheaper to send someone to us than imprison them, and secondly, if you just ignore people with these issues, it is far more expensive in the long run because they frequently end up committing crimes because of a need to fund a drug habit, or frustration, or because they are so ill they can't think straight any more, so society has to pay for the police to chase down people who are basically ill, and fix the damage they did.

And then, when you've caught them, they end up in an expensive prison cell, from whence they are sent back out and the cycle begins again, because they have no home, job or money and the same problems as before.

And then the people complaining about the cost of rehabilitation then complain at the high crime rates.

I wish the people complaining would spend a week in the place I work and see the reality for themselves.

Town this morning to start the process of getting a replacement passport for my wife, it was relatively quiet. Roads were quiet, home, cook a late breakfast for my wife and daughter who came round to watch you know what.
On the bike, 16 miles to get a joint of beef for tomorrow, saw my son, partner and grandkids who were having a imprompu picnic by the river so stopped for a chat.
Washed the windows, cut the grass, trimmed some bushes and pottered around.
A gòod day.
