The Good Old Days were not, it seems, the good old days

In fact the show was crap

Tail End Charlie

Well, write it down boy ......
The Sweeny and Minder. Both "Must watch" in their day but looking horribly dated now.
Hey, The Sweeney was, is and forever will be, ace! The Ford Granada coming towards you, the music and Regan's punch, great stuff. Plus the total lack of political correctness. Some of the story lines were quite dark with one or two having a twisted morality, so best not to analyse it too much.

Kung Fu, David Carradine, 1974 was something I watched as a kid. The memory was of a great show, deep with thought and eastern philosophy.

Just saw half an episode on TCM+1.

What a load of old crap.
I found the boxed set in a charity shop once... sat through the whole lots thinking "I don't recall it being this boring!" ...those slowed down fight scenes are almost comical. It's almost ground breaking for being an ambient action show... almost.

Agreed... the Sweeney is a timeless classic and pi$$es all over most of today's cop shows. Minder was a comedy kids show and should never be uttered in the same breath as The Sweeney.

Danger mouse is still a good kids TV show, and is coming back this week I believe.

Minder is still watchable, obviously dated, other shows the humour isn't quite up to today's standards etc.

I'm talking about the shows, that in later viewing are utter, unarguable tripe. How were we ever deceived?

I dare not search YouTube for Its A Knock Out (Yewtree concerns aside).

I remember as Kid watching Alias Smith & Jones and Hogan's Heroes thinking how Ace they were, but alas they have not stood the test of time.

I've been watching some re-runs of Frasier which are not so old at about 15/20 years, it's still laugh out loud funny .

Vega$ and Chopper Squad spring to mind... loved them as a kid, but the odd episodes i've dug up recently have proved them both to be appalling... especially Vega$... do all of Dan Tanner's female friends only have bikinis in their wardrobe
