We were very occasionally allowed a sugar sandwich for a treat supper!
Egg sandwiches were always made with scrambled eggs. I've never met anyone else who does that.

I've been more adventurous with sandwiches mixing sweet and savoury as an adult and the first time I ever had fish finger butties was when another student made them.

Marmite with Sandwich Spread. When I was six, we used to call them Grandpa's Special.

Pickled beetroot sandwiches every Sunday when we went round to visit my Grandad. Awful things, tempered by the pile of comics he used to buy for us

I used to get into trouble by letting the juice drip on my clothes. Mum could never get it out

Lunch at my primary school was always the same. On the table was a loaf of sliced Sunblest, a catering pot of Lyles Golden Syrup, a large jar of Marmite and some marge.
