Went for first club ride on brand new bike.

So brand new the LBS hadn't charged the di2 battery, and neither had I.

Made for a very fast cadence on the way home trying to keep up!

Wow. A "shakedown" ride is always advisable before showing off a new bike as you'll be wanting to make lots of small adjustments.

Well it might have been in your day. Perhaps you should check out the old school bike sheds

Hah! I did a little Audax on a new bike last weekend. Light came loose, seat post clamp broke, my route card holder fell off, brake pads (disc) weren't bedded in which made for some frightful descents, front wheel came out of true and my headset came loose.

Otherwise it was a glorious day out.

Oh yes, when I was taking the front wheel off to load it into my pickup, the front spindle's thread stripped. Lucky it was at the end huh?

Next time I'll stay at home and play Lego. Too dangerous maybe.
