Hi guys - didn't know the best place to post this so I went to the most viewed topics

I just had a conversation with one of my pals who uses wiggle - his credit card details have been used fraudulentlyhttp://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=fraudulently&spell=1 in an attempt to buy airline tickets.

Mine was used fraudulently on tuesday to buy 2 mobile phone top-ups (2nd time in 6 weeks)

and two other wiggle user pals of mine have had their details used fraudulently in the last 4 weeks.

The last time I used wiggle they didn't ask for my CC details - yet I got my goods and the moneys were deducted from my CC account. They MUST have my CC details on their database. This is illegal. Tell your mates - get your details off the wiggle d-base now.

No I mean people jumping to conclusions about an online retailer because of hearsay. Also as far as I am aware there are no problems with a company holding your card details as long as you have agreed to it, which you undoubtedly did when you registered with wiggle.

Contact your card company, contact the police, but unless you have substantiated evidence about a company, please don't sully their name on an internet forum. This can lead to problems with the company and the forum in question, I believe.

I think after the last alleged problem with wiggle they set up so an option that you could pay via paypal if you so wished.

To add some balance I have used wiggle loads of times without any problems and I will continue to do so.

Come on Mags and FFFF - four people - who's only retailer in common is Wiggle - and four different credit card companies BTW, have their details pinched in rapid succession - in one case within 48hrs of each other - I'll issue a warning to others to be careful. You wouldn't want to be next would you?

Also:

1)It's impossible to 'agree' to illegal terms and conditions.

2)I emailed wiggle before I posted here - they are informed and I will not contact the Police unless they fail to reply to me and remove my CC details by the time limit I have imposed. I'll give them every chance to come clean - I know that they're a reputable firm.

3)All comment on this forum is personal opinion and does not necessarily reflect the opinion of the management - or the forum would have an overdraught by now.


4)Please don't try to censor me in public again. If you have a complaint - take it upstairs to admin - they can discuss the matter with me in private if they feel I've overstepped the mark and I will abide by their ruling, not yours.

I am not trying to censor but how can you be sure it was Wiggle ?

It is a right pain in the harris when it happens and I have had it happen to me in the last year but hand on heart I could not be certain exactly who stiffed me so how can you be ?

FFFF - no I can't be absolutely certain. That is true. But can I not warn others that there may be a problem? I concede that the evidence is circumstantial - but aren't we here to help each other out?

I could have worded my first post differently - it does make for an alarming read - I will modify it if a moderator asks me to.

Obviously you have to track back to where your card has been used and ditto you have your list of suspects.

I don't believe that it is illegal for a company to hold a record of your credit card details. It is however illegal for them to hold them if you tell them not to.

I had my credit card details used illegally a couple of weeks ago. This was a new, replacement card, complete with a new account number, which I had never used. I'm still waiting for an explanation from Nationwide as how my details came to be used for motorway tolls in Barcelona while I had my nose to the grindstone in Glasgow.

So your details don't have to have come from a retailer.
