The wife rides a Trek hybrid (7100 wsd)

Yesterday she managed over 21 miles including some pretty steep climbs (over 1100 ft of climbs) on this bike without getting off and walking once.

I have to add she has had major knee surgery years ago and cant bend her leg as most can (she pedals with her heel due to the twist in her leg)

Really pleased she did it.

To all those who say they cant do it, you can, it just takes time, and you dont need a fancy carbon special to enjoy yourself.

I saw a good 20 cyclists today on my 20 mile round trip, only 2 women.

We see a few round here, mostly with family along the cycle path route (old rail line)
