Big win for the Welsh ladies today, who beat England Ladies 13-0

. I still really enjoy Rugby Union though and find Rugby League really boring.... last night wasn't the best game ever, but it was exciting enough and I'm never going to complain at a win over the Welsh

Is that downto the atmosphere or the actual game?

IME the game can be great fun with the high stakes such as 6 nations, if you watched the exact same game on the back field I wonder how entertaining it would be?

I can watch most sports - football, RU, RL, tennis....

The truth of the matter is that they can all be good when played well, with a competitive element but most pro sport is a disappointment these days.
I blame the excess of money leading to a massive need to win, and the trend towards bigger, stronger, more physical participants leading to a lack of finesse and subtlety.

Bit of both. Like I'd be happy to see Chiefs beat Bath 3-0, probably means a boring game but a win against a tough opponent that you haven't got a good recent record against is great. I don't think the England/Wales games was particularly boring anyway though, wasn't loads of kick tennis, wasn't loads of reset scrums, neither team ever looked like running away with it so it was pretty well balanced. I've seen a lot worse games in the Premiership and domestic cup comps.

Looks like on aggregate Wales beat England over the whole weekend, beat the U20s as well.
Feels daft but I'm kind of already looking forward to next years 6nations. With the number of young English players coming through that are perhaps just breaking in to the national team or are close to it, once we get the world cup out the way (again a very daft thing to be saying) we'll be looking at which of those can take us to the next one.

Elite rugby is a gladiatorial contest played out at very high speed requiring spatial awareness, speed of thought the borders on preternatural, and physical robustness that puts most of our species to shame.

The exact same game would never get played on the back field. The gulf between even the Premiership and International level is so large only a small percentage of players can bridge it.

It is a hyperthetical question to see if the enjoyment as a spectator was down to the game or the occasion
