I have a Cree led front light with external battery for proper night riding but was out this evening for a run and the sun was setting but I knew I'd be back before dark so no need to carry it, so thought I might get a small be seen type of light that I can just keep in my pocket incase I'm caught short so to speak. Any thoughts on what's good or not. It needs to be cheap (although I don't mind spending if its going to be worth it), most importantly small and able to run on normal batteries or be recharged. I like the look of the lezyne one that comes in different colours but it runs on watch type batteries, is it better to just go for something that runs on aaa type. Thanks in advance.

I have got an Exposure Flash and Flare for small front and rear lights. They run on rechargeable batteries but I believe exposure do a version that are USB chargeable rather than battery chargeable.
The front light kicks out 110 lumens and the rear is 75. Both front and rear pulse, by that I mean they emit a constant light, but it increases in intensity like a flash, but without going off. I tend to run them on dull days or early evening, before needing a light to see by. Rear can be used anytime though.

Get a Poundland front light - they're great if you only want to be noticed, especially when they're pointing slightly upwards!
Ill have a look next time I'm passing but I have to say I've never seen anything in poundland that I would be willing to put near my bike apart from WD40. Maybe I'm a snob when it comes to cycling.

IMO these are the best looking ones around but use 2 x CR3032 batteries. I'm willing to put up with that given how neat they are
They actually look like the very small lezyne ones at a tenner from wiggle.
