I think the optimism was in entertaining the possibility of a comeback.
Zhao has had one very minor lapse so Ronnie will be fairly lucky to get 2 or more frames.

I reckon Williams has an OK chance in the final. He is an all rounder, more so than Trump.
Trump would have done better than OSullivan but not enough.

Who ever wins it will be historic. Either the oldest winner or the first Chinese winner.

I worry that the 50 year old will be knackered, he’s had 2 gruelling matches in a row. Where as Zhao finished his match early.

I think it was Hendry who said there's only two outcomes he can see - a Chinese runaway steamrollering Mark, or stage fright meaning Mark will get sufficient chances to win using his superior snooker nous. Made sense.

Had no idea Xintong was 28, thought he was more like ~20. I was oblivious to his '21 UK Champs win too, until mentioned in this last fortnight.

On paper and form, I think it's a Xintong win, he's been a potting machine that was just a bit wonky against Wakelin.

But Mark has shown a great all-round game this championship and he will be chilled at the prospect of being in another major final, not bad for someone provisionally booked in for lens surgery on 12th June iirc!

Hopefully we get some late night drama on the BBC tomorrow night in the fourth and final session! :hyper:
