I can only pick out a few words of Italian because of its closeness to French, but musicians use Italian as an international language

Well that explains why I never knew..... music is one of the few things I am clueless about *sigh* I guess we can't all be genuises right?

If it's Itailian does that mean the e is pronounced as a seperate syllable?

So the Italians influenced music like they influenced coffee.....

So are you saying you are French or speak French? Does the word Dressage really mean, or come from a word that means "willingness to learn" or "trainability"?

I speak French. Didn't know the etymology of dressage but freedictionary came up with this:

[French, preparation, training, dressage, from dresser, to set up, arrange, train, from Old French drecier, to set up, arrange; see dress.]

I wouldn't even begin to try to pin down the different connotations of the French verb dresser.

I think I'm going to start an album, whenever the moderators deem me appropriate enough to post photos, called Normal America. Will try to remember to take pix of normal everyday things here just for you guys. Since this is a highly international forum (very unusual). Might even get a few pix of cyclists I see (especially on Sundays) real popular to ride down my road on Sunday.

I can only pick out a few words of Italian because of its closeness to French, but musicians use Italian as an international language, always written in italics on the manuscript. Slow tempi are things like largo or andante, fast go from allegro to scherzo, but piano (or simply p) and forte (f) signify quiet and loud. And the revolutionary aspect of the pianoforte was that its action allowed a far greater range of volumes than any of the preceding keyboard instruments. In the context of the pianoforte, the only relationship to speed is how fast you depress the keys not the tempo of the music.

Don't know tosh about music, but I am Italian: did not want to over explain linguistics to @somewhere in america

I can't wrap my tongue around French, I'm better with Spanish.

Fab idea.
Just for the record then, the People of Walmart website does not depict Normal America does it? Please tell me it doesn't or I might be too afraid to ever visit the States again.

How did you end up with a cool name like Echo?
My mate Danie wrote a book where the main character is called Echo but you sound way nicer than the book character.

I've never heard of "the people of walmart" now I have to check it out.....unfortunately it's probably true but you can't judge all of us on the Wally Worlders they are a breed unto their own.

Echo is my middle name, my first name is too frilly for me and no one can pronounce it anyways. Haven't gone by it since I was maybe 7. One day I'm gonna drop it legally and change my last name to Morgan. My mom was a hippy she had to have a unique name. I hated Echo as a kid..... love it now.
