Well done. A soak in a warm bath will sort you out
I finally warmed up and felt ready for a blast on the turbo so 25 mins interval training at a level I currently feel comfortable with has just been completed and I feel really good allbite my heart feels like it wants to jump out of my chest.

Now time for that long hot shower and a roast dinner later.

Look on the bright side..... wherever the road isn't covered in grit, at least the tarmac is washed clean and you can enjoy the corners.
Yeah unfortunately it seemed like I was riding on a river almost everywhere I went. Decided to stay away from the running river most of the ride but eaither side of the standing water was greasy and full of rubbish so ended up just sticking in the water which helped when it came to cleaning the bike off and the mud guards where an absolute god send.

I knew I'd only have a couple of hours this morning before the rain arrived, so sorted the bike* and cycling wear out last night and set the alarm for dark o'clock this morning so i could get out by 8am. This is most unlike me.
If I'm out and it starts raining that's just how it is, but I struggle to psyche myself up to go out into a deluge.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
I chanced it this morning and as soon as i got a few miles from the front door he wind driven rain got to a point where i thought "WTF am i doing" so i cut it short and did a steady 13 miles .

My neighbour did 65 miles in the rain and admits that he didn't enjoy it.

Pretty much the same for me as cyberknight above.

Prepped the bike last night, as was determined I'd get out whatever the weather. It was hard going, the rain didn't bother me, but the wind was something else. I had 50km planned in my head, got to 10km and decided a joke is a joke, but this is madness, so turned round and went home, 20km done. Felt great after a shower though !

How do you all dress for wet weather ? I've got a cheap rain jacket thing that worked fine, a good set of overshoes, and some waterproof over-trousers, but I do find the trousers hard work, like they are restricting normal movement, and hence making it a lot harder !

Yep, that's the way it is. If you can't do wet and cold at this time of year, you won't get out. To coin a colloquialism 'MTFU, or GTFO". Sounds harsh, but it is true.
If you get off on riding in the rain then do it. If you don't enjoy it, then don't do it.
Cycling is for fun, not some sort of proof of your manliness.
