Are you just being a little paranoid or have previous bad experiences?

I dont wear helmets either unless its BC stuff

I got knocked off in mid Feb, not dead but a little nervous. Not put me off though, and I managed 40 leisurely miles on Friday

Read cyclecraft, ride defensively, don't take risks...or stick to trails (but not rough ones, MTB riding seems much riskier than the roads)

Sitting around not doing anything much leads to someone somewhere clotting to death every few minutes of every hour of every day of every month of every year ... I'm making an effort to do more cycling now!

Put a filter on the Cyclist Down forum though - you can avoid most of the reports on CC that way.

I had a good fast off last night riding trails in the woods.
Am I going to give up cycling, hell no
I'm going to give up crashing instead

Covered in lots of bruises and abrasions today and feeling a little sore
The bikes fine and the only thing lost in the woods was my ego.
