Hi folks, quick question. Does anyone know what this is in the pic. It's on the drive side seat stay on my new steel tourer. Assuming it's a production result of making the frame but seems very intricate. Thanks

It's a nob for.hanging the chain on when the rear wheel is removed.

Thanks folks thought it was some sort of manufacturing by-product with steel frames. Seems too nicely finished to hang an oily chain on it though. Never had or apparently required one before. Thanks again.

It keeps tension on the rear mech so you don't have to 'flip' it back to get the wheel in
