The experience changed him

She got us yesterday. 22 hours without power... which is fine. We have a wood burner and a gas hob and lots of candles. I drove past someone a couple of miles away who had both their cars and front of house squashed by a tree. Lots of trees and fences down. We got off lightly with roofing felt off a shed and my large fruit cage blew down the garden.

I've removed a number of posts. If you want to refute someone's opinion, do so, but focus on the opinion and don't add unnecessary insults. Thank you.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
Why don't the the Met Office forecasters look at 'Will it rain today' before going live? Then they might get the forecast for the next few hours right at least ^_^

Mod note: The funding / management of the Met Office would be a subject for the Politics and Current Affairs forum. If you want to have that discussion take it there please. Thank you.

I find the regular weather forecasts sufficiently accurate to warrant consulting before going outdoors, but there seemed to be either an error of timing or an attempt to look too far ahead in the case of Storm Doris which was a non event at my location.
One of the problems in these days of 24 hour news, we hear of things but don't remember where we heard them. Many stories regarding the threat posed by Doris were broadcast in my area even although we were unlikely to be affected.
