We currently have an issue with the wife's car, it's keyless & every now & again whilst outside our house it fails to open or once open fails to start. It never happens anywhere else only outside the house, convinced something is jamming the frequency

You can get all sorts of effects of electomagnetic radiation. On older teles and older set top boxes switching the tele on frequently 'jammed' the box as it was giving out IR similar to that remotes on some boxes used at the time.

TV remotes with with infrared light, not electromagnetic signals. The one cannot jam the other. An IR signal will beam straight through the most powerful electromagnetic field without a problem, and vice versa.

Completely and utterly wrong. IR is electromagnetic.

Go to one of your other houses.

Maybe the staff in the gatehouse have a TV that doesn't interfere with your fire?

PS sunlight can mess up IR - get this with the 'outlaw'.

Phones saying telly won't work, it's because of direct sunlight on the IR receiver on the TV... works every other time other than low sun.
