Did others build ramps in the road and try and jump over their mates? Down the woods we also had names for all the jumps like the camels hump or cliff drop etc. Happy days.

Or you’d take two skate boards you’d sit on one, your mate the other, facing each other. Then you’d link up and hurtle down the steep hill together and hopefully make it round the bend at the bottom.

The steering was a coach bolt you had to procure from the local hardware shop. Veg box on the main plank for a seat, and if you managed to scrounge a seat cushion from a dumped sofa you had the deluxe model!
