I bought Viking Fixie (a nice lightweight 13.5kg steel frame) for the commute and the day's I'm time constrained; it has the same affect if ridden hard (good work out in half the time). Up north it'd give me the same work out in a 1/4 of the time Not worrying about ice, etc after dark also means I'm less time constrained.I am on limited time these days due to my son, but the way i do my miles makes 50 feel like a century!
