Struggling with armwarmers

Couldn't ever see myself wearing them - too much faff. Short sleeve jersey until it's too cold them long sleeve and on the odd occasion I get too hot I've shuffled the sleeves up and dropped the zips to cool down a little. It doesn't look pretty I'm sure but it saves faffing around with arms! Don't see why jerseys can have detachable sleeves [in the same way jackets do].

Because unzipping and removing arms at lights would be way more faff than just slipping arm warmers off

I brought my first pair of armwarmers recently. I tried them on and they felt way too tight, so I sent them back and exchanged this small pair for a medium. The medium still feels too tight. I wore them on a short 45 minute ride yesterday and when I got back and took them off, my arms were red and tingling a bit for a while afterwards. There's no way that medium would be too small for me because I am quite a slim bloke. What am I doing wrong? Maybe I'm not seating them right on my arms? The armwarmers in question are Sportful No-rain armwarmers.
A slim Welsh bloke. however, Sportful are Italian and Italian racing snakes take slim to a new level.

As someone of pipe cleaner, rather than drago esque proportions, I find Pearl Izumi's seamless armwarmers fit well, as do the Descente ones with reflective lines near the wrist (the latter have a silicone gripper at the top that works excellently to stop them slipping down).
I bought a pair of fluoro yellow arm warmers from Aldi last year. Really good, I suspect they'll be used on early morning rides soon.

I don't have problems with them being too tight as I have arms like a professional cyclist.
I also have very slim arms, but these armwarmers are still pretty tight!

Get some bigger ones then

It's a PITA that more manufacturers don't give the dimensions of arm warmers. Trying several brands can be expensive and frustrating!
That's pretty much all cycle clothing, even the ones that do give dimensions. I've just resigned myself to a two week process of ordering and returning stuff. I pretty much have £50 permanently floating between paypal and sellers.

Clothing and shoes are best bought at your LBS, where you can make sure you get the correct size.
My LBS is pretty much a parts and bikes place. I think they sold caps, for a brief period in the 2000s, but after that flirtation with clothing cyclists, they forswore the sale of garments entirely.
