some look great, i think they are a fashion accessory and are very trendy and look great, however fashions change, you can update/swap and get new clothes but you cannt with tattoos, thats always been my worry. But if you want one get one, not my thing but its up to you

This thread reminds me of a lady on a bus in Northampton. Probably in her early 60's, she looked really elegant and posh, immaculately groomed, make up and clothing. After a couple of minutes she slipped her jacket off and my jaw dropped. Her arms were covered in home done tattoos, what I call prison tattoos, where the cons use a needle and biro ink. She had one picture of male genitalia and swear words. Her arms just didn't match her general appearance. As the old saying goes don't judge a book by it's cover.

I don't know whether it is an urban myth or not (lots of variations listed on Snopes) but when Beckham had his oriental tatoo there was a fashion.

One young lady had a very elegant tattoo done only to be asked to cover it up in a Chinese restaurant because it was an obscenity!
