Dear Ms Speicher you have a pressing need. A Carpenters doorbell would be a saw point as far as your visitors are concerned. Wagner's Top Ten might go down well - especially the ring cycle - killing two entendres with one's tone...
I just can't put my finger on it at the moment but when I do I will give you a bell.
;)

I suppose I could try and find one in an Antique shop - going for a bong.

Matters are further confuserated because the lounge is upstairs, so you do not see any people on bicycles, or in c*rs etc, as they stop outside. The bedroom is downstairs. The kitchen is also upstairs (with a back door into the garden) so if the kettle is on, I have no chance of hearing someone banging away downstairs.

Damn, my innuendo gland appears to have run dry. Could someone else oblige and knock one out for me?

Well, Speicher, if you get a really huge knob or knocker, then if someone is banging away with it, surely that will increase you chances of hearing it at the crucial moment?

*Will that do for a start, Chuffy?*

Good morning people. What is all this about huge knobs and knockers? ;) Have I missed any good gossip???

Anyway hope peeps are feeling well. I had almost an hour extra in bed today and feel most refreshed; cats were well pissed mind you.

Planning what to do with the rest of my day at the mo. Wish I was back in work.

An Up-date on knobs knockers doorbells.

I have changed the frequency, and pressed the button. It works as long as they are not too far away from each other. Now instead of a banging, I will hear a gentle bonging. Possibly a happy ending to this conundrum.

I'm not sure if I'd prefer bonging to banging ;)

I had some fun, pressing the button, which changes the noise that is made, some were very long unidentifiable tones, and I settled on the more traditional bing booonng. Also moved to nearer the door, so that ppl can here that they have pressed the right button. And then they will know that I am coming to the door.

I am going out shortly to an Arboretum. The purpose is to walk through lots of leaves and kick them about. followed by the necessary hot beverage and cakey substance.

While silently singing "It will be forever Autumn" and/or "California Dreaming" which starts with the line "All the leaves are brown". ;)

Oh that sounds like paradise. The only Arboretum I have been to was Westonbirt and that was many years ago.

I have started this as a New Topic and invited people to join me. Some people sometimes say how "cliquey" this thread is, so I have ventured out into the open forum with this. :wahhey:;)
