How are you? Have some Baileys fudge.
TheDoctor said:Astrium. Used to be part of BAe (BAe Space Systems, IIRC) but since bought by EADS. The same group that's involved with Airbus. Actually I've just had a call from one of the guys who interviewed me - just to confirm I was OK working at heights with heavy equipment.
Told him yes - I've just spent the weekend working on ladders with Kangos and diamond tipped circular saws, so working at heights with heavy equipment that will take your arm off given half a chance!
I might hear something good towards the end of the week or beginning of next, but he 'didn't say that'.
tdr1nka said:OMFG have I got my fingers crossed for you, that would be sooooooo cool! Was worried it might have been Marconi 'cos they make nasty missiles and sattalite(sic) stuff.
You might be able to help me with a queiry I have about Spaceship One, I read about the test flights in Time and have since lost the article. I am under the impression that the booster fuel is made from recycled car tyres, or am I going mad?
Tea?

Not feeling good today. Ache all over, not just the back. I will be seeing the Consultant Back Surgeon tomorrow morning. I have been assured that if the problem is part of another illness, then this Consultant should be able to diagnose that, and at least send me to get the right scans, etc that are needed. I have deliberately not gone looking for illnesses, ailments that match my symptoms, but came accross one by accident today. I am hoping for some sort of diagnosis and get quickly referred to the right people for treatment. At the moment I cannot be on my feet for more than half and hour or so, without having to lie down afterwards.
If you would like to give me a hug, make sure it is a very gentle one.![]()
I will excuse myself from making the tea, tho' I did make an exception the other day for Abitrary.

Many a happy hour was spent with all conversation drowned out buy the testing of the somewhat ironically named 'hush' jets.
*hands out more tea*
TheDoctor said:Ah, the BAe 146 'whisper jet'.
I work about half a mile from there, backing onto the railway lime. Quiet and peaceful it ain't.![]()
Arch said:I did, yes. I wish I hadn't. They are very crawly and flittery, and my hair is tousled enough without locusts stuck in it. If the Doctor were here, he could help to pick them out, or do something clever with his sonic screwdriver or something...
Yes, I am pleased with Seamus's helmet. Here he is riding in a pannier on the back of my recumbent trike, when we still had matching helmets.
