There's one of them in the NRM, do you want me to go and liberate it?

Couldn't condone you liberating it, but a few photos would be nice. I'm trying to visualise the mechanics of getting from the post to the train. I'm guessing a scoop on the train, and the sacks hanging off a horizontal pole or something like a strong curtain track.

The bit where Spock dies in the engine room in Star Trek 2 gets me.
And Kirk saying 'Of all the souls I have met, his was the most human'.
I blubbed, I really did.
*sniffles*

My brother and I cried with laughter during this scene but only because our Mother, in all her modesty has always grandly requested a lone piper playing 'Amazing Grace' at her funeral.

.

Make of this what you will, there is a gibbit with a dangly thing on on a hook on the post and the train has a net catchy thing not unlike the modern Baseball mitt.

Train then simply scoops up dangly thing with the net catchy thing.

I've been turned down for all the manual writing jobs I've gone for, am I'm starting to recognise a pattern?

I'll have to see if I can get down there this week, it's not far from here. At least the Thomas festival has finished, so it's back to being free entry.

Yes, as I remember it's a scoop on the train, with a net, and the sack hanging from a sort of gibbet. And inside, all the little pigeon holes they sorted the mail into, on the move - no mean feat when you think how much a fast moving train rocks about...

Anything else you want a photo of while I'm there? Mallard? The cut in half Ellerman Lines? Whatever bits of the Flying Scotsman are currently strewn across the Workshop floor?

Not at all, I think you should bring out your own line of manuals for technophobes... I'd buy one!

Stop me and buy one.
Now I'm back to red flannel petticotes!
Whoops!

BTW where it comes to the concise description you explained the post transfer in one sentence compared to my three.

You win this round of train, net, gibbit.
Best of three?

Or, you could give them pregnant hounds to look after as they give birth, for Occupational therapy. Whelp the Aged....

Just gone through the whole alphabet and I can't think of one. Bother.

I still don't see why some films are 'sad' and some aren't. The end of The Railway Children gets me a bit too.
*realises is trying to compete for soppiness. Resolves to play to strengths instead*

No, neither can I any more....

I'm sorry for calling you sad. I suspect I was actually visualising William Shatner's acting ability in delivering such a line, rather than the emotion behind it...

Never mind tdr1nka, you can write the manual, and I'll write the concise little revision summary at the end of each chapter..

Oh, I agree. Shatner would have a hard time acting his way out of a wet paper bag.

I'll help with any research that's needed:biggrin:.
Oh *checks time* I doubt Mr T will be here still. If he's got a train to catch at about *works backwards* 1205 or so, he'll probably be on his way to Kings Cross.

Toasted teacakes please, thank you.

A baby elephant wandered into the house at about 1 am this morning. I felt it thudding down the stairs, and then it nudged the furniture in the bedroom. Then it decided to shake the bed. How did the cat not notice an elephant in the room?
