OK, a carbon flying boat, with a Merlin engine, and optional helicopter add on.

We're going to need:

a lot of carbon fibre
a Merlin engine
some propellors
some rotor blades
some nuts and bolts and glue and gaffer tape
a big shed, preferably with a slipway to some water
a very big teapot and a super huge tin of biscuits.

Bring your own mug, overalls, stub of pencil etc..
As an ex-postie I can probably lay my hands on a near infinite quantity of those red elastic bands. If someone has enough balsa then I reckon we're good to go. ;)

I have carried out some very quick research at the Resource Exchange, here in Worcestershire.

Amongst the companies that supply their otherwise scrap materials are:

Kettler - who make aluminium bikes
and garden furniture, so that's the deck chairs sorted  and the propulsion, or staff transport.

AirTube Conveyors - unfortunately not large flying air tubes like aeroplanes, but much smaller ones for security systems, handy if you wish to send a hamster  on a flight, I suppose.;)

And ta dumpty daahh

Sealine, who, and I hazard a wild guess here, make boats!
(but there is also something called sealine recovery, involving Sellafield,
have we got much idea how to construct a nuclear carbon boat?)

There is a lot of old hangers at a disused MOD base somewhere near. In fact Mr Dick "It's not difficult being Green" Strawbridge did his "Gadgets from WW2" programme from there. And he also bought a lipstick from the chemist in town.

Why do I get the impression that peeps might not believe me, it is TRUE.

A nuclear powered flying boat? This is all getting a bit Thunderbirds. I like this. What happens if we get it to 88 mph?
