You're so creative! Could you customise your current rack pack?

Well, I've just sewn a band of reflective tape onto it, it looks almost like it was meant to have it! Using the holes left by the stitching onto the vest has made my stitching quite neat!

Can't seem to shift the red paint mark though. I might see if I can find a fabric badge to sew over it!

I have a single Carradice Barley pannier (its mate got lost). It would look fine on the bike. But what to do for the other side? Having sat on Piemaster's Bikebin in July, I love the idea of having one to double as a seat when camping. How tatty would that look, one Carradice pannier, one Bikebin and one non-matching-either-1990s-Halfords-brand rack pack...

Evenings!!!

It's a bit rainy and overcast here, so I'm curled up with a cup of tea. Off to visit the local volcano tomorrow!! Anyone need some sulphur?

Mornings!

Well, what a night. Miserable-looking hen in the house overnight (she's sort of perked up today after a warm bath. TLC & sweetcorn) and Marble is looking mierable. He's hugging a radiator and looking very down. I shall be keeping an eye on him.

I hope the hens are ok, Waffles.

I de-iced the car this morning and it was -6C. Even the bottle of windscreen wash concentrate in the boot had turned to slush so I couldn't top up the washer bottle. I used it to de ice the screen in the end.
I must get some more de-icer spray.

Morning all!

Cold toes after this morning's commute, but a toasty warm head.

Ta, Night Train! Campag has perked up nicely, so I put her back out with her sisters and left the three of them tucking into sweetcorn & mealworms. Marble has perked up a bit - he's eating some food, which means he can't be all bad. I think he's probably just miserable from all the cold weather.

I can sympathise with the hens, as can my cats.
I found out this morning that rather then going out to their toilet in the garden they decided to make their own inside the conservatory!;)

Would anyone like to help me take the decorations down this evening or tomorrow? Please folder them carefully, we do not want to get them all in a tangle.

Oh, go on, get the cats to help...:wahhey:

Got to work this morning a touch late, due to having to walk more than I'd expected, due to sheet ice. However, the boss and colleague hadn't yet got in, due to the padlock being frozen. None of us being smokers, we didn't have a match between us to heat it up. I held it in my bare hand for a bit, which did the trick eventually, or at least it suddenly worked. It was -6 at about 9am.

Later we gritted the compound, once we'd smashed up the frozen lump of grit...

Still, thanks to 4 layers on my top half, two pairs of trousers and socks, a fleece hat and riding a trike, I was perfectly warm all day:smile:

Coming home, two of us were braving the icy path out of the reserve, until a lady coming the other way slid over sideways for no apparent reason (well, the ice obviously but she wasn't turning or going fast, and had been on the ice for some distance). She was ok, if a little bruised. We all walked after that...

Tea? anyone? Just going to wash up and put the kettle on.

Well, Arch, I am surprised at you.:smile:

The cats are fast asleep. Leo on the rocking chair, and Tasha in the corner by the bookcase. You would like me to wake them up, and bring them down to the Tea Thread, so that they can tangle up all the tinsel that I so carefully and artistically ;) put up in here before Christmas. xx(
I hope you have some cat biscuits for them as a reward.

Someone's made it all white outside again!

Earlier this evening I installed a small 500w fan heater in the car wired up to a timer. I am hoping it will warm the car a little before in the morning and give me half a chance of de-icing the inside of the windows.

I've still got to get a working lesson plan for tomorrows class so it may be a late night and an early start.
