Coconuts come from Sri Lanka, the Indian ocean, the Caribbean, those sorts of places . Ginger can come from south Asia, East Africa and the Carribean generally.

I have been cycling in Burgundy, the Rhone Valley and the Rhine valley. It's like cycling down a wine list.

Of course, the Tea? thread appears to be a comfy arena of chitchat and hot beverages, but underneath it's a seething hotbed of passion. I've been secretly shacked up with one of the teatowels for months....

Well I've been doing my bit for the Tea thread's passion quota by being shacked up with Spandex all week. What's your contribution Arch? ;)

I'll PM you about the job.

If Longers does manage to grow biskits on the allotment I might be making a midnight raid on it

I like the idea of a biskit tree. Would it be like a cork oak - the biskits are actually stamped out of the bark? Very young trees could provide ginger thins, while old tough trees provide that sort of shortbread that glues your jaws together and comes in tartan tins at Christmas.

But plant some spuds, and you can at least grow your own crisps. And chips. mmmm chips. No, I have leftovers to use up, I'm going to do a sort of bacon and bean bake tonight.

I'm sure little bits of cotton will compost - it's a natural fibre after all.

I saw a programme the other day about spices, and how they 'make' cinnammon. The thin bark is peeled off, and then stuffed very tightly into rolls - very labour intensive, and of course the producers get about £3 for four giant stacks of sticks, hundreds of them, and we pay £3 for a couple of sticks in a jar.

I have a confession. I just made.... co**ee!

I went and got a haircut, and some groceries, and some S and M pants. It's all excitement here.

I just come here to drink tea, I must be missing something, like the secret hand shake for access to the tea towels.;)

Dammit, I had to go back and check I'd typed that right!

No secret handshake. Bringing some form of biscuit/chocolate/marshmallow combination on the other hand....

Wow, after a cafetiere to myself, I won't need stimulants until Wednesday....

Hey! It's quarter past five, and still light! I mean I'd probably bung an LED on to cycle, but it's a grey day. If the sky was clear!

Despite the snow, spring IS coming.

Oh, be ashamed.
Said he, drinking his sugar-free Cream Soda.

Is it better than the full fat stuff? Which is as appealing to me as horse emissions. Sorry.

I took a wander over to the allotment this afternoon to have a nosey before the guided tour tomorrow. Very, very tidy.

Really tidy

I'm possibly mistakenly already equating that with steep rent but it looks it might be a goer.
