I like the idea of a biskit tree. Would it be like a cork oak - the biskits are actually stamped out of the bark? Very young trees could provide ginger thins, while old tough trees provide that sort of shortbread that glues your jaws together and comes in tartan tins at Christmas.
But plant some spuds, and you can at least grow your own crisps. And chips. mmmm chips. No, I have leftovers to use up, I'm going to do a sort of bacon and bean bake tonight.
I'm sure little bits of cotton will compost - it's a natural fibre after all.
I saw a programme the other day about spices, and how they 'make' cinnammon. The thin bark is peeled off, and then stuffed very tightly into rolls - very labour intensive, and of course the producers get about £3 for four giant stacks of sticks, hundreds of them, and we pay £3 for a couple of sticks in a jar.
I have a confession. I just made.... co**ee!
