I thought we were being pretty quiet. I have just read back through and realised AAAC stayed back with Bill and still bested his previous time by 18 seconds:notworthy: . How do we catch up?
It's getting close to that time when I should take the best bike off the turbo. My sl pro will go back on though with a change of tyre to cont.i The old sram gtoupset needs replacing and so will look at a mid compact or even a 53/39 up front. I need to be able to turn a higher gear on the flats and descents rather than spin out. My lungs cannot keep up. May go new tiagra or second hand 105. Problem is I have 10'speed only rs 24's so 11 speed isn't possible. Or (shudders) I could sell the Bkool and use the money saved not replacing group set to get a wahoo kickr or tacx neo on ifc. Yes, I am bored, lying here, stomach gurgling and churning . Seems my little puke may have been a taster. Well I did catch much of it in my mouthxx( And on that unsavoury note I bid you all goodnight;)
An awful lot of it going about Bob, it's passed through this house, leaving carnage in its wake. I somehow managed to dodge the bullet, but the kids and Camlo had a tussle with it.
As a non qualified and clueless medical practitioner, I advise lots of lounging around and interwebby bike shopping therapy. You will then need to remain on the sick for a minimum of 3-4 days in order to sign for all your retail therapy purchases upon delivery.
I did laugh at your remark about missing the fan, if not only because it stirred dark memories of my 7 year old strolling in front of my fan to proudly watch his father, and farted!
The resulting scented breeze, whilst at maximum exertion was most unpleasant, and almost resulted in a dnf.

Anyways, enough rueful musings about signing off sick....I'm off to work, to rip out anything non oak, and replace with oak!

And I'm not even self employed!! I work full time for a construction company, but then do my own work on top.

But I have so much on now, I'm going to go self employed. Evenings and weekends are for turbo training, not working!

Self employed here, getting that work life balance is hard I've had 3 years of working stupid hours and weekends that this year is different, the problem for me is im my worst enemy.

I'll have a spare weekend and some one will phone up saying that they have a job that's for a couple of days if you're busy as feck and have 2 days free ie the weekend then you work the weekend.

I only work weekends if ONLY essential now i wont go to another job in the evenings, mortgage is paid off in 2 years^_^ so I'll be cutting my hours down slightly.

This is the year i get my life back at last.
Being self employed is hard work you never switch off.

Not quite as bad yesterday but still difficult to ride at full pelt with the taste of vomit in my mouth and sight and smell of smatterings of sick on the floor^_^

For the record Bob it was 8 seconds.
The pace Bill and I were on was not too different from Thursday's and we were averaging over 50 kph. My Thurs effort was 49.6 or so. Being 20 seconds ahead of us you stood to take the stage so I dug in hard to bridge the gap with no other intention than to drag you back to Bill. Once I got there it looked like you had blown an Bill had dropped of the pace as well so I carried on in an attempt to break my and Graham Ashes PB. The effort to bridge to you and the litre of Shiraz the night before took its toll and although I got to the final climb in good time I didn't climb as well as Thursday and actually freewheeled across the line totally spent!

Gawd, my eyesight is getting worse. Apologies AAAC.
If you like we can get a group to chase Ashes record on the next ride? You need a minute and a half and if it helps I am certainly happy to burn bright for as long as I can to keep the kph average up.

Monte I just challenged you up 'huez' and... Failed miserably!

I think I'm a way off of challenging your time mate. Nice 1.

Just a thought but if bkool send you emails saying you've been challenged and beaten, they should also send you ones when a challenge has failed?

"Hey monte. You were just challenged on one of your rides but fear not, it was only Tommy, and he died on his @rse halfway up the hill so bailed out to grab a level up!"

It could raise the banter stakes to another level!

I had to drastically change my TT plans for this year because the Gran Fondo Denmark series has been cancelled . I will try to party crash a local spring TT series, and the first start is already on Tuesday, so I'm not going to make the handicap race.

Good luck - be sure to let us know how you get on :okay:

Thanks for the offer.
I'm going to save Thursday's ride to my favourites and launch myself off of my own back wheel
