Well some Tacx riders are often tempted to stick to the steep bits ;).

The steep setting doesn't exist on a TACX Vortex, sometimes I wish I had one (ok maybe not...)

Spot on with Lars Bill and I have no doubt if he had been riding on Thursday none of us would have arrived at the climb as 'fresh' as we were.

I think one of the reasons for my lower HR readings yesterday was because I deliberately did not set out frantically as I have to most times to make sure I get to the descents with Bill and Lars, or slightly ahead, and so everything up to the climb was very measured.
In addition not once either did I sprint into a hill to get a pro sling.
During the Climb whilst Bill set out with his self proclaimed 'gaming' I was put on a back foot as he was quickly going away from me but the periods he was able to do this appear to have been reasonably short and there after I was constantly backing off trying to coax Bill and Bridgy into fighting back.
My final climbing effort was around 250 watts which for me does not put much of a strain on the ticker,
I guess that even though my max HR is limited (partially due to age and partially self enforced) its volumetric efficiency must be pretty good so much so I often feel that it is my lungs that are slowing me down and not my heart.
The volumetric efficiency would make total sense because if you could have seen how blocked three of my heart arteries were before I had my stents fitted you may have wondered how I could have walked into town let alone live a reasonably active life.

Had Lars been there I reckon we'd have done just the same as we did with Bridgy. Let them go on ahead as we saved energy for the hill. I still went for the pro slings because I think they can be energy efficient, use the speed then back off to save energy. Indeed the blue numbers only worked for me for a few short gradients but the speed I was doing was probably double the realistic speed. I'll soon see tomorrow. Hopefully I can come in a minute or so behind.
I think you're safe to relax now AAAC. Ricks final three choices were right up your street so now you have some room to play. As for the final stage, looks like my speed could be blue all the way up that one so will have to do my best to avoid powering up more than average during anything above 10%. What I find happens is that it will keep going at the highest speed you reach and only tailing off very slow as long as you keep pedalling. Keeping at a steady 300watts or so should hopefully avoid that.

Added to the fact us Bkoolers can sprint off of the line like the wind due to the resistance delay purposely built into the SW/FW to make it 'more realistic'!
This same 'realism feature' allows us to sprint into steep hills and transition a 60 kph at times, speeds we cannot otherwise achieve on the flat.
I myself find I can often climb low gradients quicker than I can descend them and the concept that the ascending watts to speed flat line appears to happen at different percentage climbs for individuals based on their physiology is probably an attempt to allow all trainer makes to compete on a level field.
None the less I still thoroughly enjoy BKooling particularly with the Brady bunch here on Cycle Chat.

Yuck!

On a serious note bkools ant fec in Zwift seems about spot on. Very strange.

I think I'd also enjoy the steep bits more if I weighed only 62kg as well!

How tall are you Bridgy?
If your anywhere near 6 foot you wouldn't want to be 62 kg unless it gave you a blimming good income!
I am 6 foot and was 64 kg from the age of 18 to 44 and then put on a stone almost overnight.
At 75 kg I am far more resilient to colds etc and I recover better from illness as previously with any dip in diet I had no reserves to pull on.

That's because Swift has been specifically set up to attract all Turbo users because they don't make trainers themselves so from the get go they have considered compatibility.
Folk are still attracted to BKool because of the range of sessions and videos available but seeing as they do not appear to be attempting to launch any new trainers then perhaps they need to up the anti on the compatibility and operability but to do this perhaps they need migrate to ANT+ FEC totally, which would leave me stranded on both of my current trainers.

You have to be right. But it shows they can write their software to even things out between trainers when they have too. I understand the need to protect market share and all that but migration is inevitable. It's a cracking and reasonably priced trainer. And software.mthough I would, love the ability to download or precache and then ride high def videos rather than stream.
And non, we wouldn't want you stranded AAAC when you could be easily toying with us, stents and all:okay:

At 5ft 8 and 85kg, I'm mostly resilient to colds as the germs can't fight their way through the layers of fat :mrpig:

Can you run BSim in ANT FEC on a BKool or do you have to stay native?

Well I'm not going to argue with you either!
I'd did once cycle into the back of a car and the outcome was probably similar.
Why did I do that? I was on a hand me down Raleigh RSW16 (it had a Sturmey Archer 3 speed hub, a built in dynamo and and integrated bag on a pannier rack at the back, the business) and I was proud has punch having fitted a mileometer to the front spindle which worked by a tab fixed to a spoke knocking a cog on the mileometer round.
I was just watching to see the first mile clock up when bang!

PS: My previous bike was a Moulton 1970 Junior and that's my sister on the RSW16 who handed the bike down to me.
PSPS: For Soarer the picture of the RSW16 with my sis' was taken in our back porch!
