@BILL S - I'll be happy to start tonight's Chaingang ride though I'm not sure how many takers there will be.

I've not done it before, so a quick question.or two from any experienced starting marshalls

Do I go into the League Tab and then pick Details and Setup and turn off Atmospheric details. What about Ghosts and Bots - do I untick them for tonight's ride.

Also I suppose I have to keep pedalling for the 10 minute warm up period - I'll be shattered before I start.

Thanks Wolfie.
Just as you said really. I always pedal the full 10 mins so I get to have a warm-up, although sometimes it starts on its own for some reason. Geoff's way is probably safer, but then you're missing your warm-up. And I always untick bots, ghosts and atmospheric conditions. Have fun.

CHAINGANG TONIGHT AT 7PM - if Bkool have finished their upgrade

I'll start the session tonight - look for Serranillos Playa / Toledo / Castilla-La Mancha / España in the Live Tab

So 7pm start as usual with the 10 mins warm up - it might be worth logging on a bit earlier to allow for any enforced update Bkool may inflict on us.

Make sure you put your weight back to it's correct amount before the race as it will not be approved otherwise.

Looking at the profile I suggest sea-sickness tablets about an hour before

I usually untick bots at least, as sometimes the session was saved with some setup and they are a pain in a multi-user ride. I would clear ghosts as well, unless you specifically planned to have some. As you say, the main one is real atmospheric details, as riding in the dark quickly gets tiresome.

You either have to pedal for the full 10 minutes, or not at all!

If you don't pedal at all while you start the session, then it (usually) counts down fully unless you start pedaling and then stop. When I do the Handicaps I start the sessions without ever being on the bike, and the count down runs fully and the race starts at the 10 minute interval.

Geoff

Thanks Geoff - I never even thought about the no pedal option, but i may still use the 10 minutes for my 'warm' up .

So untick everything and hit the start button.

I don't think I'll make it either - determined to save my legs for Sunday, and I know that if I start the race I won't be able to hold back from going full pelt for 40-odd minutes! Will hopefully try and look in on the action though

I am pretty confused by this not cycling until sunday lark from you 3^_^ Are you not amongst the Titans of achievement on bkool, endlessly dishing it out to us lesser mortals:notworthy: And yet, the prospect of a longish ride on sunday seems to be putting the fear of god into you and getting in the way of you turning the pedals. You don't buy all that tapering BS do you?!? Its just a longish ride sunday, not even a race:okay:

As much as I am not looking forward to tonights session, I have moved on and planned Sundays ride . Now I am begining to plan real world rides for the weekends , in particular, Sundays xx(. However I am in a bit of a bind this weekend. I am the on call guy from 9:30am Friday to 8:00am next Friday. This puts a severe hold on the amount of time I have to get to my car and then to site :cursing:. A 30 mile ride where I live takes me a few hours, 3 at the last count with a short rest period (about 20 minutes ). I can't get away with that much of a delay.

So with that limitation I have decided to schedule a London to Brighton session

http://www.bkool.com/profile/detail/238414?durationType=DISTANCE&lapCount=1

I'll probbably end up doing 70 or so simulated miles, with warm up and cool down sessions as well. I'll be aiming for about 4 hours total for the 3 sessions, no blue numbers whilest climbing, hopefully. I have no set start time planned just the sessions. I could get called out at any point and have to stop or abandon the session :banghead: :cursing: .

If you see me on this session and fancy having a try just join in. I will be chugging along with the intention of finishing not racing .
