would someone do me a favour ! just tried out the new update nipping round central park and although there was resistance - it didnt seem to ever kick in to the normal pain level - not wanting to blow my own trumpet but ROOTATOOTTEETOOT! can someone try the route and put me in my place as i dont think thigs are working as they should - cheers

Did you make sure to power off your bkool trainer after the update? I remember this was necessary as after one update I forgot to do this and got no resistance at all!

I'm worried that doing this much planning this early is going to make the wait unbearable! :hyper: Play it cool Tommy....

Is the general consensus registering as part of team 'cyclechat'?

@Geoff are you coming along bud? It'd be great to have you at the party even if you didn't fancy the ride. I remember a few months ago you were considering buying an electric bike. Could that be a plan?

Sorry to disappoint you Soarer but helicopters don't suck or blow, accepting the engines of course.
They simply have wings that rotate and create a lower pressure above the wing thus creating lift.
However close to the ground you get what is called ground effect.
Because of the relative high pressure below the wing the high pressure air moves toward the low pressure in an effort to equalize it just like the vortexes you sometimes see at the wing tips of airliners .
This creates a cycle of air from the bottom to the top of the rotor disk. As this cycle of ground effect air approaches you it will create quite a force of air that will pick up any loose objects and blow them away from the disc but if they become airborne they can get drawn into the rotating airflow and down into the top of the disc.
The most dramatic effect of this is seen in snow or sandy conditions where the former will create a white out of airborne snow and the latter a brown out of airborne sand. The latter is by far the worse to be caught in and with a helicopter the size of a Chinook the effect is extremely dramatic.
Away from the ground in a high hover if you stick your hand out of the window you will feel no downdraft at all.
All very true but I was wobbling on about the Seasucker bike rack I have that uses suction to hold my bikes onto the car.

Apparently it uses suction I think it is just witchcraft.

Has anyone had problems with the Firmware update last week? After installing it my Bkool Pro Trainer has reduced resistance levels. The resistance changes as the inclination changes but it is much reduced to what it was before I did the latest firmware update end of last week.

I have had no requests to do a firmware update with my original Classic. We've been down this road before though. The updates for the various models of trainer coming at different times. I will no doubt lose the ability to saw tooth, slingshot and semi-coast v-fast down steep hills, shortly, when the update comes out .

@theboxers - I have a Classic 2, and got the request to do the firmware update last Thursday.

I have installed it but not tried it as yet.

I didn't get the firmware update before Saturdays ride where it went bizzare half way through the session. What is the latest firmware number and where is it displayed

I had a firmware update a week or two back

I think it is in Bsim under Settings - About Bkool Indoor. The software version shows at the top - v. 2.62 - but I believe you need to be paired to the trainer for it to show the Firmware version (?), and I'm at work at the moment so can't do this now - will confirm what mine says later though.

Definitely go for it onto my 8th year of doing it and brilliant fun.

Did a blog a few years ago about preparing for it and then doing it. The usual sort of nonsense I spout out on here have a look if you are very bored, will show if I can do it anyone can!

A very interesting and enjoyable read @Soarerv8, it lightened up a dull day at work - written with your usual wit and style.
