Just got halfway up alp d'huez before I realised I hadn't changed my weight back after the handicap...

In my defence I noticed it was easier going / power down, but figured it was due to the latest update. Then the penny dropped... :shy: Oops...

@berty. I think it's assumed anyone who isn't coming better have a good excuse!

I think it is in Bsim under Settings - About Bkool Indoor. The software version shows at the top - v. 2.62 - but I believe you need to be paired to the trainer for it to show the Firmware version (?), and I'm at work at the moment so can't do this now - will confirm what mine says later though.
Mine went from 3.06 to 3.10

I'm worried that doing this much planning this early is going to make the wait unbearable! :hyper: Play it cool Tommy....

Is the general consensus registering as part of team 'cyclechat'?

@Geoff are you coming along bud? It'd be great to have you at the party even if you didn't fancy the ride. I remember a few months ago you were considering buying an electric bike. Could that be a plan?

I don't think electric bikes would go down well on a sportive, I expect I would get more than black looks. I could tow people up the steep hills, my brother does this with his grown up son!

Unfortunately the laws don't allow assistance beyond 15.5 mph and it's quite easy for a fit cyclist to do 20 mph on the flat, so I expect I would be too slow on the flat and much faster on the climbs, not conducive to riding with "real" cyclists!

The giant e bike I was looking at still has not been launched. It is delayed a month every month, so it may never make it! Currently due in August...

@theboxers - I have a Classic 2, and got the request to do the firmware update last Thursday.

I have installed it but not tried it as yet.

Mine went from 3.06 to 3.10

My Classic is still at firmware 2.04.
It has not been updated since this https://www.cyclechat.net/threads/team-bkool-cyclechat.144689/post-3969412
I'll happily continue to struggle on with this firmware,, until something better  comes along.

I'm doomed
I just did stage 4 again. No more slingshots. No more freewheeling. Even at -1 or 2 % the speed slows very fast so you need to keep the power going. Actually it slows down much faster than real life. You need -5% or so to maintain a steady speed downhill.
I tried a quick on/off to see what would happen. It doesn't work anymore. Mega starts still work though.
My average power was up a fair bit but that could be because I couldn't do any freewheeling.

Is there room for one more in the Not Red team?

Fair enough mate

Although the towing people up the hills bit seems like an excellent idea! Annoying they keep pushing the launch date back on the giant. it's always a bit of a gamble buying the first generation of something at the best of times. I'd be interested to know why they're stalling.

Out of interest, what was the riding time for the DD. Long course?

I would consider doing this by signing up for the long course but changing route to shorter course, if I wasn't Up to it. I don't know how my ankle would stand Up to 6+hours riding.

Plus side I have a year to work Up to it. I am good for 50 miles at the moment

Andy. Based on your last league ride I'd estimate that you could do the long course in a bout 5 hours, so your ankle probably won't have started playing up by then.

Updated and it seems I have erg mode in zwift:okay: hurrah

1st workout done. Absolutely no need to change turbo now. You took your time bkool but well done! I am sure erg training plans are next.

But back in bkool

My first attempt at stage 4 without updated firmware:
50min 55secs, 290 watts, 82%

Second attempt at stage 4 with updated firmware:
54min10secs, 313 watts, 91%

Second attempt the loft was much cooler so power being made more efficiently. Looks to me like things just got a whole lot harder.
