I have had no requests to do a firmware update with my original Classic. We've been down this road before though. The updates for the various models of trainer coming at different times. I will no doubt lose the ability to saw tooth, slingshot and semi-coast v-fast down steep hills, shortly, when the update comes out .
Just got halfway up alp d'huez before I realised I hadn't changed my weight back after the handicap...

In my defence I noticed it was easier going / power down, but figured it was due to the latest update. Then the penny dropped... :shy: Oops...

@berty. I think it's assumed anyone who isn't coming better have a good excuse!

Top Tip. If you change your weight for the handicap then add it as a pre/suffix to your user name and then you'll be reminded when you login.

I'm doomed
I just did stage 4 again. No more slingshots. No more freewheeling. Even at -1 or 2 % the speed slows very fast so you need to keep the power going. Actually it slows down much faster than real life. You need -5% or so to maintain a steady speed downhill.
I tried a quick on/off to see what would happen. It doesn't work anymore. Mega starts still work though.
My average power was up a fair bit but that could be because I couldn't do any freewheeling.

Is there room for one more in the Not Red team?
Yep Bill that sounds like what I have with the update too - I really like the more realistic speed drop-off on inclines actually, but it will take a bit of getting used to!

I do think it is faster on the flat though - so I think on other flatter courses we'll be getting quicker times

Funny thing is you were absolutely flying on the flat. I challenged you and you were a good 5 or 6 mins ahead of me by the time we reached the hill. I didn't feel faster on the flat. And I was way slower uphill. Like you said, there were blue numbers but they didn't help at all.

Ah, maybe that's just a benefit for me personally then ^_^

Actually I did also change my rear tyre just before that update too so it could be partly that I guess? Surprised if the tyre would make that much difference though?

Can anyone shed any light I'm having with a league I participate in, the Lands End to John O'Groats (The Beginning). I've completed stages by manually scheduling them, but have noticed the stages are still present in my schedule list. Lately I noticed the Group option whilst in the simulator which has all the stages listed that thankfully disappear when I complete the stage. But when I interrogate the league for my progress I don't feature anyway within it??

Switched on my PC tonight and received the BSim SW update which is now at v2.65
My Pro is stuck at 3.02 Firmware and although my Classic is always requested to update to 2.04 Firmware it always fails and remains stuck on v1.13 (and is an early Classic with the USB B connector).
It will be interesting to see if I still have all the advantageous quirks that I for one always bemoan.
I have no doubt that the firmware gap will cause advantages and disadvantages but it is no fun competing live if there is a drastic difference in the behavior of the Trainer.

You can't manually schedule league sessions, you have to start them from the Leagues tab in BSim or challenge another competitor however your challenge session will still be in the leagues tab.

If you go to BKool home and go to your 'Sessions' page and select 'Scheduled' you should see a Trophy symbol next to any scheduled league sessions.
Likewise if you go to 'My Activity' and then select 'History' you should again see the Trophy symbol next to any completed league session.
No trophy then no show in League.

Tyres make a big difference. Not just the pressure but the tyre rubber seems to make a big difference on the fast bits. Your start was beyond quick and the speed you pulled away from me after that was :cycle:

Did I hear mumurings of a handicap event this evening? I might see if I can hop in, as it's at 8pm. Work has been just relentless of late, which is good, but not conducive to anything approaching a social life or any good for my cycling. I've got a big endurance event coming up in a few weeks, and I haven't swum or cycled in ages.
The firmware update sounds a bit scary, so I've polished my green hat in preparation for handing it back.
