Wow that was tough. Just like old times LB. It felt like Bridgy had empyied glue at the bottom of each hill the speed we slowed down when we hit the gradients if it was anything over 5%. 1, 2 or 3% ones were almost slingshottable.

No one turned up for the club ride, probably due to rain and floods, so rushed home in the hope I might get to join the ride. No chance really especially when Windows 10 did some updates, bkool needed to update and the firmware needed an update. I dropped by to see how far back I would've started and then decided to do my own thing.

Hills are tougher, I don't think it's fitness as I've been doing ok in the outdoors world of late, it must be firmware. The chain off moment didn't help, the turbo bike does need a service, perhaps I'll do that next week. The flats and down hills were easy, the little bumps scrub the speed of quickly,. Overall it felt a lot more realistic so not a bad set of updates really.

The new fan is great.

I saw you over-did it once like I did Bill and get your speed knocked down to about 3mph!

That was tough, more mentally than physically but that was hard enough-90%. I couldn't figure out when I came off a descent at high speed I would literally grind to a halt in speed generally 4mph and once or twice or saw 2mph briefly. I would then have to build speed back up. Also when a climb percentage dropped from 4% to 2%, you would think it would get easier but no, the resistance remained constant.

flat speed seems spot on

I was feeling pretty dejected by half way, AAAC thanks for the encouragement in latter part, I needed a lift and put in an effort to finish strong :okay:

Suffice to say the KIckr with bkool is a problem and not on a par with the Pro

Karma for breaking a Pro trainer:laugh:

Yes, almost 1 hour at 101%, and I get rewarded with the "Too bad! Your physical condition has decreased"- message .

Definitely a different ride with the new firmware/software.
No slingshots, no on/off and no drafting.

And no exaggerated watts this time.

That was indeed rather annoying. It was like a negative slingshot so going to have to try and figure out how to avoid those. Not surprisingly you beat me my 33 seconds but I gave it everything and my HR even went to 177 a couple of times. Actually I was feeling unusually strong today so doubt I can do better on Saturday. Although with a bit of drafting from the right person perhaps.....

All this moaning and groaning about the updates! Just do what I did and go to the pub before you ride and down 2 pints, rush back join the warm up, start and then watch Bill and LB disappear off into the distance:rolleyes: great riding you two. I doubt my beers made a difference given I was necking jelly babies like anything. I was just anxious to beat 1h 5m and I just made it. Ta for the lift Whorty:okay:
i have to say riding into a short incline now fills me with trepidation. I cannot slingshot in. If I miss judge the power needed to get to the top then a frantic down change in gears whilst power and speed collapse and dignity falls away is the only answer. And sometimes brings me to almost a dead stop:blush:
Still, great fun and the best way to burn 1000 calories:okay:
