Sounds good Whorty.

I just did stage 9 of the summer cup and it was quite tough. Took me over 56 minutes which was almost 9 minutes slower than AID.
Damn. 56 minutes for you means 90 minutes for me  Better make sure I'm fresh for that one!

There's a good 15 mile one for the Stelvio to have a go at :unsure::headshake:

Did that one in the GdI league. It was bad enough watching it on telly let alone riding the blimming thing on a turbo.

My legs were still like wooden stilts today so I thought I'd have a gentle spin on the Turbo.
Did one ride and helped (or perhaps hindered) another guy up a long hill and then went looking for something else to do and the Summer Cup stage 9 was staring at me on the Live board so I though I would give it a RECCE run and quit early on the final climb.
Well, for whatever reason, I started badly as I joined just as it was about to kick off and I was siting up on my bike spinning supping my drink as I joined.
Everyone rushed off and I didn't so once I stopped I got going, if you know what I mean.
I put in a bit of a dig and set off in pursuit of whoever I wanted to pursue.
Well who should be at the head of the race, none other than AID and Graham Ash so as I was going to leave early I set about chasing them down.
I caught Graham by about km 6 which left only AID at about 30 seconds ahead.
On the 3 km decent from km 6 to km 9 AID took another 10 seconds on me but I pegged him back to 20 by the top of the rise by km 11.
He then took back a few seconds on the descent but by the top of the rise from km 13 to 14 I had him in my sights but I was standing up on a big gear desperate (perhaps too desperate) to peg him back before the road dropped again.
It was at this point that I noted I was pumping 570 BKool Watts and I wondered why I was not eating up the ground between us.
That's when it dawned on me, as I looked up at the leader board in the top left of the screen, that my name was AAAC 97kg Team......
Well as I wanted to bail early and as the rest of the stage was climbing I felt it was time for my 97kg lardy butt to leave and have another go at 80kg another day.

Hate to tell you this AAAC, but the short sprint we did for the chaingang on Thursday, you were also at 97kg. That would perhaps explain how I was able to just about stay with you, and certainly explain why you didn't totally destroy me on the hills.

And I have gone to great lengths to make my BKool stable. I want to buy one of these now and I am going to install a rain shower over my turbo as well.
I'm now trying to work out how can make my trainer set up fall over if I go around corners to quick as well.
I also have a vision of some sanders set up to give me real gravel rash when I fall off of my trainer.
I'm only now just beginning to realise what I miss about real world riding.

Bill, I could never destroy you, you the man than annually goes and rides for 24 hours around a sodden Scottish mountain side.
I have become a 30 to 60 minute specialist, pretty much how I was when I was young when 10's were my forte but not 25's. Now I am a tad older I have moved on to the hour sprint (the 25) but any longer and I am hopeless!

Just saying hello again. I was here last November and December and had bought a Tacx Bushido which I was trying to run Bkool on an iPad, but the app kept crashing. I went over to use the Virtual Training software which was stable. Recently Bkool told me the app now works ( short story it still doesn't ).
I have now set up a Mac Mini on the front room TV and can finally rejoin Bkool. So here am I again to give it another go.
I am currently going through the Lejog rides to get back to fitness. I had ruptured 2 discs in my lower back and only just got back on my trainer 2 months ago. Hopefully I can join in some of the rides again but I won't offer any challenge to anyone, so for me it will be for fun and exercise. Is the Mountain Moose League still running?

Welcome back Neil. The moose league is not running at the moment, although I still qualify :mrpig:. I am sure there will be a new set of sessions put up shortly. Just sign up for the other cyclechat leagues, for when they go live again, and dive in.

Good luck with the rehab on the back

@bobinski thank you for the tow on stage 8 again . I managed to stay a little closer this time and did a 58:20, a bit quicker than I would have got last time I think. So another sub 1 hour :wahhey:. Problem is I am now fubar'd :B).

Time for a rest and relax I think, but no beer as I'm on call :cursing: :banghead:.

I've now got stage 9 to look forward to xx(.

Fun! You don't get me like that I remember last time I was here, reminded me of Chris Hoy talking about his training, vomiting into buckets and falling off bikes with not enough strength to climb off.

It will be fun for me, as when I was getting treatment for my back I found out I have a slight heart problem
