Stupid mountains
Had a bit of a tussle with Monte, who disappeared for a while then came back to fly past me, and Andy who slowly reeled me back in , by that time i'd ran out of gas, my rear tyre was getting shredded and making a squeaking noise (think it was the tyre but could have been my breathing!) I was in no mans land with 2 miles to go and just lost the will to carry on
Well done guys, great riding :okay:

Velodrome anyone? ^_^

I had been with jonbon for the first mile but was dropping off when you started to reel me in. I tried to stay on your wheel as I knew if you 2 got together you'd work well and lose me. I held you for a bit but I just wasn't strong enough.

I had a terrible start, the 10 sec countdown started early. Then it said I had jump started, I hadn't. So I waited, but power held @250W without pedalling, so wouldnt let me start, I had to pedal slowly for the power to register and reset to Zero, then I was off. All told maybe a minute or so lost faffing. Whorty, you held on well to me, once I'd caught you up, I thought I wouldn't shake you off for a wee while.:okay: I couldnt tell if jonbon was taking it easy when I bridge to him, then he put the hammer down.

It's a Continental Ultra Sport - I think recommended by Bill or LBHIFI a while back. I've only previously had one other tyre on the turbo (a freebie from an event I did) so I haven't really experimented with different options

I am using an old Durano, it super shiny now and tends to spin up on the roller on inclines.

That sudden early start nearly caught me out too! I had to slam on the brakes - nothing more frustrating than being stuck on the line because your wheel's still moving when the countdown finishes!

now that wasn't very nice was it ! who ever chose that route ?:stop::surrender:
now just because i can climb a bit as bkool loves a skinny mini - i can also hit my thumb with a hammer - doesn't mean that i really want to ^_^
i came out my shed and paddled into the house and HID just looked , tutted and walked away !:headshake:
just lately i have been trying to get cadence high while keeping an eye on average heart - i knew cadence was out the window up a mountain so in warm up i got it up to 167 but was bouncing like a silly thing . i am sure it has helped though in the long term

Berty,
It was most dispiriting watching you pull away. I could just about hold the time difference at 340w and gain a bit with more watts but my legs couldn't hold it. So I decided to ignore you and focus on breedon. I was worried he and Rick would join and draft each other back to me. Pride just about overcame an overwhelming desire to slow and ride with them!

I use this too. Have a look behind the bkool unit and see how much black tyre dust deposits come off during a ride. Doesn't appear to affect performance though which is much better than the tyres I used previously.

Well done Berty, my 10 mins advantage over you in the league was wiped out up the Alpe d Huez. Congrats:okay:
I've changed my mind !! Can we do it again
There is no button for what I feel about this comment  :cursing: :surrender:

My hammer had gone down way before that, I just didn't have the energy to pick it up again!

Yes, bit of a weird start looked like everyone was waiting for everyone else to go.. and I also got the starters on the line all in one multicoloured body!

I know I come late after another hundreds of messages (just woke up). I really liked this group stage, my first climb with Bkool. A useful thing would have been a text chat feature during the climb. Is there one? I don't want the others hearing me sniffing like a dog.

Not really - you can send individual riders messages when you're spectating but not when riding as far as I know. Having said that, I don't think I'd have the energy to send text messages whilst racing - I can barely read them let alone send them! I understand that Zwift has an accompanying app which you can use to send gestures/messages to other riders - not used it myself though so I don't know exactly how it works. A phone app to send gestures or standard messages with a single tap would be good though (I could probably just about manage that!)

Blimey - I've just realised that Mont Ventoux is another whopper of a ride like the Col de Bonette - took JLaw nearly 3 hours! And the league finishes tomorrow when I won't have a chance to ride it so I think I'll have to have a go at it tonight if I want to finish the Mountain Goats league. Sorry legs

Anyone else planning to do it tonight?

Just applied for membership at the bkool website. Understood that the process is then to drop a note here ?

....

Based in Copenhagen so start times might be tricky but will try.

Been reading here a few times, specifically related to the simulator whenever there has been an update/upgrade (latest one is a disaster).

What is the "normal" route you usually ride. Gloverton someting ?

Thx,
Bugno (same nick in bkool)
