They haven't updated it for ages @AAAC 76C . When they do, you'll shoot up to page one whilst I'll be in free fall.. it looks like @Goldwolfie will be a friendly face with more daft climbing ahead...
@Jim Brown - 61st in the all time runners list - well done mate.

Looks like I need to pull my finger out, so I hope to get Stage 7 done today, and guess whose ghost I'll be challenging.

Enjoy tonight's ride with @Whorty and feel free to use my ghost. I put everything I had into it, but it was a bit lonely out there except for the milli-seconds when the later starters came flying past me.

Anyone here have really wide feet and able to recommend some wide fitting cycling shoes? I had a follow up bike fit this morning . The bike fitter identified post ITB patella issues arising from strain due to a move to speedplay pedals post original bike fit and choice of shoe. He tried to fit my cleats so center between 1st and 5th metatarsal. Unfortunately he could not fit them far enough back because the drillings on my Specialised BG shoes do not extend back far enough. The reason? I had bought a sise too big, and so too long, so that i could accommodate my absurdly wide, fallen arched feet. They may be comfortable but with cleat too far forward i was putting too much strain on knee that i then dealt with by lowering saddle and so I need to replace them. The shoes not the knees! Recommendations warmly received.
Arione saddle/seatpost up 19mm, flattened out a bit-it was nose down 5mm- and bars rotated down stretching me out even more from what was already a semi aggressive position. Advised to go back with new shoes and get some custom soles to correct the pronation and will not charge for the final retul fit once all these things done.

When you doing it @Goldwolfie? I may join you for a few warm up miles, or at least cheer you on. :bravo:

It might be better to ask the question on bikeradar or weight weenies Bob.
Off the top of my head you can get bont vapours in a wide version and they're mouldable to your foot shape. I think giro do wide shoes too. I know specialised do wide versions of at least their high end shoes but I think this just compensates for how narrow their standard models are.

Ive got shimano R171 shoes which are wide, but they also do "normal" so be careful, quite comfortable but i got a size too big so my feet slip forward slightly.

Ta for recommendations.
I tried bonts before but unfortunately you only get the width with the additional length. Some people have have tried to shape them wider during the moulding process but if you cannot get them to fit you are stuck with them. Re Shimano just seen these which look promising;

Bob, I'd suggest buying them from a bike shop rather than over the Internet so you get to try then on. You could always haggle a lower price when you've chosen. I have shimano shoes R076 which are wide enough for my size 10.5 wide ish feet, but these are quite old now.

Absolutely DP.
I am ordering the RC7's- confusingly called rc 700 in wide- into my local Evans to try on.
